I am tracing George Wilkinson who lived in Farndale Road newcastle upon tyne around 1923
His Daughter Elizabeth Jane married my Great grandfather (possibly a Waletr Jones a Civil Engineer) and they had a child John Frederick Jones - My Grandfather in 1909 /10 I believed them to be in newcastle

JF Jones died in 1947
Elizabeth Jane Jones re married Walton Tatters in 1923 and they lived with George Wilkinson in Farndale road
Elizabeth tatters died in 1933
JF Jones married Dorothy potts in 1932 and they had twins in 1933
Walter Leslie Jones
John Frederick Jones (My Father)

Can anyone help me with wilikinson or walter jones

The only Elizabeth Wilkinson that I can find on the 1891 census that matches your Elizabeth has father Cuthbert.

I have managed to contact a member of the Wilkinson Family who confirmed the following

George Wilkinson1861

Elizabeth Jane Wilkinson 1887

I still have no idea who married EJ Wilkinson although on my Grandfathers wedding certificate it states his father as Walter Jones - civil Engineer Deceased (this was in 1933 JF Jones m Dorothy Potts)

I used to live @ 12 Hampstead Road Marie Celeste - so your info is correct

Margee I cannot say wether Elizabeth married Thomas - i saw the very entry you have noted but I am not aware of any siblings for JFJones and JFJ states Walter as his Father

I am awaiting JFJ Birth Certificate

Is there a way of researching Divorces?

Andrew, depending on when the divorce may have happened you can try the National Archives http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/divorce.htm

As you may know, divorce was a lot less common in the earlier part of the 20th century and even rarer before that. It was far too expensive for working class people (although I've found the odd one).

Sorry have been away - here are my latest findings

Elizabeth Jane Wilkinson is on the 1911 Census in Durham , living with her parents etc
There is also a Child on the record - "John Frederick " Wilkinson aged 2 - I believe this to be John Frederick Jones - My grandfather - I have sent for his Birth Certificate

I also have a record of Elizabeth Jane Wilkinson marrying a Walter H Jones in 1912
I have sent for this certificate too

My grandfathers Marriage certificate claims his father is Walter Jones - a Civil Engineer
