Peter McArthur Campbell Cannot be found on UK records between 1881 & 1902, but on the 1881 return he is listed as an Engineer
Possibly the same man? All recorded as Peter McArthur Campbell b circa 1850 Scotland
The man who is listed on Australian emigration 4 Nov 1882 was a crew member. 2nd Engineer aboard the Austral from London to Sydney The man on the California Voters Register ( San Francisco) of 1892 & 1896 was also an Engineer born Scotland.
I suspect that this was the same man, but I cannot find him coming back to the UK between 1896 and 1902
He was a bachelor when he married Elizabeth Hardman in Bootle 19 Nov 1902 His occupation is now an Estate Agent . Peter was 41 yrs old and Elizabeth was 25yrs old. Patricia, do you have this marriiage cert? Can provide it from ANC if you wish. There is also later travel info available for his son, James Hardman Campbell if you wish details.
EDIT Marriage cert sent by PM

Hello all.
I am the Great Grandson of Andrew Chisholm Campbell born 1864 died Wallesay, Cheshire 1943.
I have much information on the Campbell history as well as the Engineering Company James Campbell & Sons which was founded at 36 William Moult Street, Liverpool in 1874 by his Father James Campbell born Glasgow 1825, died Liverpool 1887. His wife was Agnes Campbell nee McArthur born Kippen in 1823, died Torr Road, Liverpool in 1895.
I can give give all my branch of Clan Campbell or indeed McArthur information from when we moved from Inveraray, Argyll to Carradale, Argyll, then to Glasgow, then Liverpool covering 800 years. The McArthur's before living in Kippen, Stirlingshire also came from Stracow, Argyll.
Ps: Peter McArthur Campbell's wife Elizabeth Hardman was 30 years younger then him when they married in 1902 in Liverpool when he was 52, she was 22.
My email address is: [email protected]
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
David Campbell.

Hello David, and welcome to the boards. A quick way to make contact is to click on Patricia's name and send a direct message (which is why we don't need email addresses on here).
As Reggie says, your post could get deleted if someone is small-minded and petty enough to report it. This isn't a secure site and there are some members who fret dreadfully about this and leap to the protection of others!
