A while ago i asked about my grandfather Sam Rogers and that his father
Isaac who did he marry . I can't find my granddads birth 186O ties London

Plenty of Sam Rogers but not the fatherI Isaac. some one mentioned
Isaac married either Marie or Sarah Locke, or Swallow, and one was married to Isaac and the other to a Mr Gilekson can any one confirm

Thank you all for your help. I don't know any thing about my granddad
in London birth, marriage children, I only know when he married my

grandmother in 1905 in Manchester on the marriage certificate it stated
they were both widowed she had 3 children living but i only know that they had my dad in 1910. Thelma can you tell me if it was Sarah married to Joseph Gillikson
was her maiden name Swallow If this this is right was it pssible that it was

Maria Swallow married to Isaac I get confused with so many different names

Samuel, it would have been preferable if you'd continued on that last thread so then we could have seen the "bigger picture".

Samuel - based on the 1861 census that Thelma has posted it appears that Isaac married Maria Locke, so you can forget about the other two people on that record.

However, looking at the 1871 that couple from the 1861 do not have a son Samuel (as Thelma has said)

Thelma I know my granddad Sam was born in the city of London
born in the sound of bow bells so i presume he was cockney

Can you think of any reason why i can't match Isaac and Sam
father and son when the marriage seems a match

Sam as far as i know was his only name when he married Minnie in 1905
on the certificate he was 42 so 1863 ,but on 1911 census 45 so 1866
so i work from 1863 to 1866 I don't know anything about first marriage

I can't find out about his birth let alone who he married
