Hi is there anybody that can help me we finding 1st world war records for the above. At this moment I am unable to subscribe to any sites which may give me the answer. Henry Hoadley was born 1882/83 in Surrey. The few relatives that remain seem to think he was in Africa at some time during his army life. Any help would be a step in the right direction.
Thanks Keith

Keith - can you give us some further info about him - like his occupation, his parents, did he marry?
All of this would help us identify which may be the correct records.

There are a surprising number of Henry/Harry Hoadleys born at around the time
so we really do need more information ......... such as the name of anyone that he might have given as Next-of-Kin (eg, father, mother, sibling, wife)
and anything else that you think would help.

I'm not sure if any of the military records we've found are for the correct Henry.
Bearing in mind that around two thirds of WW1 records were destroyed during WW2 then they may be lost.

Hi Keith,
I'm also trying to find birth records for my Grandfather Harry Hoadley... aka John Hoadley. Whilst searching, I found the Harry who lived in Penge and served in the Boer War. Unfortunately he lived and died in England so couldn't be my Harry - mine ended up in Australia. I also came across another Harry Hoadley listed as a trooper in the South African army.... the Regiment was the Imperial Light Horse. Perhaos this could have been your relative. I've emailed SA asking about his records and will let you know if I hear anything
