Note that ages can ALWAYS be as much as 2 years out on censuses ..........


........ the person was asked how old he/she was on the night the census was taken.

Then a modern day transcriber has to translate that into ESTIMATED year of birth


The age of a person depends on the date of the census vs the birth date.


always search for birth year +/- 2 years.


There is one more wrinkle ..................... enumerators for the 1841 Census were supposed to round down the age of all persons over the age of 15 to the nearest 5.


Most did, some did not ............ but you should be aware that ages shown on the 1841 census could as much as 4 years too young.

Hi All

Try as I might I can't find any information on the Rogers family of Hull prior to the birth of Thomas W Rogers. Thomas was born in Hull in 1882 and married Sarah Benson in 1904. They had 6 children, Thomas, John, Margaret, Nora, Albert and Sarah. Could anyone offer me any information about the family please?
