Find Ancestors

I have found out that one of my ancestors married H W Wickenden who was a artist (he had been married before) the second marraige was Margaret Mary Robertson she was born in 1915 Manitoba. I have a newspaper cutting from 1968 Richmond Review of her mother and fathers Diamond Anniversary mentioning all the children saying she was Margaret (Mrs H W Wickenden (Horace) of Toronto. She was a artist as well. Does anybody know anything about this family. Sheila

I have been in contact with somebody from the Wickenden family but only knows about first wife, knew he had married again but nothing about her. Horace Watson Wickenden
(1901–1995)

Canadian artist Horace Watson Wickenden migrated to Canada in 1921, settling in Saskatoon the following year. He studied art over several decades under Augustus Kenderdine, H. G. Glyde, and Eli Bornstein. He was also associated with many of the Saskatoon watercolour painters.

Like his contemporaries Ernest Lindner, Reta Cowley, and Dorothy Knowles, Horace was concerned with and inspired by the regional Saskatchewan landscape, a refreshing departure from the Ontario and Quebec centred Canadian art scene.
