Catherine has echoed my thoughts about the Nellie/Ellen name swap. |

Emily married in Solihull to Edgar Sandland in 1918. Alice married Frank Parrish in Manchester. 1922 and Margaret Rose married Emmanuel Stanley in Warwick 1922. |

Ellen was born 1871 Helmdon Northampton, but she was in Northampton with her daughters. Nelly is a form of Helen I think, too. Does seem strange. |

Does the address of the girls, on their marriage certificates, not give you a clue as to where they were at the time of their marriages? |

I do find it a bit of a coincidence that in 1911 Edward states his wife is Nelly born 1874, Northamptonshire. |

Haven't looked to far in that line, but could be. Perhaps I should take that root forward. Want to see why Ellen went in the Workhouse though and where the girls went to before they married in 1918 and 1922. Thanks for the help. Any more would be welcome. |

I've been thinking again! |

We have no idea, or why they went all the way up to Burnley away from family and friends. Unless he was in trouble and running away. I am almost sure he wasn't married to Nellie though and he was still married to Ellen when she died. |

Yes that is his family in 1881 and I have 1891 too. Then they marry in 1895 and change the Name to Cooper in 1901 all the way up in Burnley. |

Is this him in 1881:- |

Yes they are the right people. But cannt find a marriage for Edward and Nellie, so I don't think they were. Looks like Ellen must have left in 1901 after the cenus, with the girls. Have looked for a death in West and Cooper for him but found nothing yet. Can I get information for Workhouses inmates can any one tell me. Sorry about that answered marking. Have tried that cert and it is not him. Wrong parents. Think I might try Oxford Parish Records and see if they have any info. Have looked for some of his siblings and cannot many of them either. Thanks Carol. |

Going by your tree on ancestry it looks like you've considered a few births, I'd suggest this one: |

And Edward. What a job I had finding these people. Are you sure this Edward is her husband? |

She was my Great Grandmother, who died in the Brackley Workhouse in Dec 1915. I am trying to find out if there are records I can go to and find out why and when she went in there. In 1911 she is in Northampton with 2 of her daughters Alice Ann and Margaret Rose. Her Husband in Burnley Lancs Edward Cooper West with a woman named Nellie. |
