Hi.
Got a chap on the 1971 census but can not seem to find him on the 1861.

1871 states Henry M Johns 18 Soldier b. London Middx. !2th Royal Regt of Lancers. Aldershot. (RG10/818/17/27)
Can anyone see him on the 1861 census??

I'd definitely say the surname was James, and there is no initial "M" (other than M to denote Male)
