can't seem to trace a marriage for James Mather born about 1867 Worsley Lancashire. On the 1891 census he is listed a having a wife Alice who was born about 1869 in Swinton. I have tried records on GR and Ancestry. :-)

Is the name of wife and her birth place the same as 1891

Yes have found them on the 1901 census, that was where we started. He is the father of Frank Mather and we knew he had worked on the railways.
