Phylis Hulance was the mother, i have her daughter Phylis Cecelia= PC Hulance birth certificate, also registered as Hetherton, the father Edward Richard Alston Hetherton, yes quite a guy! many wives over his time and very old when my nan PC was born.

I believe her to be Emily as i have copy of the coroners report to Emily Hulance/ Emily Hulance Paradine , she is living with her daughter named as my nan, & had gassed herself, which when i spoke to my dad about he vaguely remembered my mum mentioning (my mum is no longer with us). Also Paradine had been the same surname my nan PC had used too .

11.6.1916 Ernest Greville Hulance , mother listed as Phyllis Hulance , no father.

Theres no other records that i can find of Phyllis Hulance or Ernest.

I have not however found the marriage for Hetherton and Hulance ..........


.... so it may be that they did not marry, and Phylis just moved in with him, and he accepted the fact that he was the father of Phylis C

Edward Richard Alston Hetherton must have been quite the guy!!

I'm not sure if the divorces actually happened, or if he just walked out ......... divorces were very expensive and difficult to obtain in those days!!

Do you have Ernest's exact birth date? Bit of a long shot but might be worth checking for a death - though this would hinge on death being registered 1970-2006, and some clue in the name that it is the same person.

Do you think he could have been adopted?

Hi i am actually searching Phylis/Emily Hulance who died 5/april/1948 Carshalton aged 52, She had a daughter also named Phylis, she is down on her daughters cert as Phylis but yet her death info is down as Emily. Also i stumbled across a record for Ernest Greville Hulance, he was born 1916, 2 years before P/E's daughter Phylis, and also in Liverpool same as Phylis, i oredered his birth cert but it lists no fathers name but does have Phylis down as his mother too.
I cannot find any other info on Ernest what so ever other than his birth, can anyone help me please
