I found this baptism record on Find my Past (also on Familysearch and Ancestry)

I am trying to find a possible marriage for the parents John and Alice Wakenshaw

from 1841 and 1851 census records they appear to be John Wakenshaw b 1768 Chatton and Alice ? b 1788 Beadnell

They died 1851 and 1858 respectively in Chatton

1851 for ref (William and Margaret are my direct descendants)

No me neither !!

been beavering away looking for some of them on later censuses, can come further up to date but no marriage as yet

He was quite a bit older than Alice so maybe a second marriage ?, says John junior was first child so if they did marry likely to be about 1815 ish

Being only a draft it doesn't bear Alexander's signature, but an accompanying paper bears the signatures of his two guarantors Christopher Douglas of Rothbury and Thomas Oliver of Alnwick. I know there are a lot of them up there, went to Chatton churchyard year before last there were some buried in there ( though I nearly broke my ankle looking !!).

Janet.....Have had a look at the Bishop Barrington Reg.of BDMs for Beadnell...there is only 2 "Alice's" Baptised around 1788

1786 Alice daughter of John and Mary Douglas of Fleatham
1790 Alice daughter of James and Sarah Mills of Swinhoe Redhouses.


I think full Registers are held at Northumberland Archives
