Miranda, do you have Laurence's birth cert ? I assume this is the right one who married 1951, are you taking his fathers name from marriage cert?

Miranda I'm trying to track back from your birth, I think I can see where the problem is but I think we need more info on what you are sure of, in terms of your grandfather and his father's names and dates of marriages whether you have any certificates to confirm.

I think Miranda may have his birthplace as Limerick, but this birth is 3 years out:

EDIT: The birthdate given on a death registration is only as good as the informant's knowledge so isn't 100% reliable (I know, because I gave the wrong date for my father).

I'm not finding a birth that's a close match for that death ...

I only know my grandads parents are correct on my tree which is

after them it seems to have gone wrong :/

I'm sorry if this is going to confuse you further but there is conflicting information. You posted the 1901 for John T Hynan who was a visitor with the Longleys. However, the Woolley family from 1901 also have a Thomas and Sarah Jane recorded. Looks like they've been recorded under their mother's married name:

It's possible that John T was double counted on the census - he may have been visiting on the night of the census but his mother recorded him anyway at her address. It could be a similar situation with Sarah Jane.

Miranda, if she had the Woolley children in the 1880s but had the children with John Hynan in the 1870s the her maiden name is going to be something else altogether.

I have a suspicion that things aren't adding up here.
