Hello, could someone take a look at the above census please. He will be with his wife, who was born in Ireland, and their son Thomas aged 1 born 1860 in Sutton Lancs. The reg district is Prescot, Lancashire. I have the 1881 census and his wife's name is down as Johnannah but I can't find their marriage which is why I would like someone to check the census to see if her name is Johnannah (probably misspelt). Thank you. |

If Joanna Eden wasn't married when Thomas was born, he *might* have been a John Thomas |

Hello, I think she may have been married twice because of the Patrick Headen (must be Eden again misspelt) that is with them on the 1871 census and it says wife's son. Also Doyle sounds more Irish than Eden. thank you Fred, Detective and Vera. :-D |

Was James married before thus the childrens birth dates. A marriage certificate would say if he was a widower |

Hi, I think I am getting totally lost now. I cant find James marriage on Lancashire BMD to Joanna, however in 1851 there is a marriage to Dinah Houghton which is probably Donna yet again misspelt, above. I have seen the birth for Patrick. Also, the daughter is called Dinah, also born Sutton. :-S |

I keep coming back to this scenario - St Helens, Sutton, Eccleston, Prescot all next door to one another |

Following up on the above post - This 1841 census shows a connection between Tickles and Doyles which could be how the Pickering to Joanna Eden/Doyle marriage came about. |

Thank you Stuart, been away from my computer for a while. Just logged on to check and now I am logging off again. I think I need to write it down so I'm not having to go and down screen (haven't got a printer). Many thanks once again. :-D |
