Thank you for the info. We know Eliza Cook/Lee did in fact live in Disraeli St. Blyth and had several other Blyth addresses before her death living in Waterloo Road. My sister-in-law, who is 91 remembers her well. We understood she did marry Mr Lee but can only find a reference to it in Tynemouth in 1911 but no evidence of any divorce or disolvement of the original marriage and I am told my late father-in-law would never talk about his family life growing up. Can this be Eliza and children in 1901 - with a husband named Edward? Edward's occupation looks something like Manager for Jewellery Trade.
Liza & children's names/ages all match.:

This is the Lillie M King in the 1901/11 posted by Reggie:
Births Mar 1899 (>99%)
King Lily May Stockton 10a 50

The correct one seems to be the Darlington birth already posted:
Births Jun 1899 (>99%)
King Lillie Mattie Darlington 10a 22

I don't see her in 1901, but here she is (probably) in 1911. Eliza Lae (Lee? Lea?) is listed as her mother, born c1871 in Sheffield (per the image, not the transcription):

1911 England Census about Lillie King
Name: Lillie King
Age in 1911: 11
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1900
Relation to Head: Daughter
Gender: Female
Birth Place: Darlington, Sheffield

The record doesn't say how long Eliza had been married, and I can't find a convincing marriage before the census date, so perhaps she wasn't actually married, which would fit if George had just upped and offed.

Wild guess - how about this one, after the census?
Marriages Jun 1911 (>99%)
Cook Eliza Tynemouth 10b 512
Lee Arthur Tynemouth 10b 512

And maybe Lillie's marriage:
Marriages Sep 1919 (>99%)
King Lillie M Lord Tynemouth 10b 665
Lord John F King Tynemouth 10b 665

Valentina,
Do you have any other info that may help?
Any idea where and when the other children were born?
Did the family stay in Richmond, or move away?
Anything?

I looked for a twin too but George and John are not on the same page.

The only King births born in 1863, Grantham that could possibly be twins are the following:-

Births Sep 1863 (>99%)
KING Albany John Grantham 7a 410
KING Albert John Grantham 7a 410

This family are turning out to be rather elusive. The only record I can see is this one which would be for their son:-

1911 England Census about George King
Name: George King
Age in 1911: 21
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1890
Birth Place: Richmond, Yorkshire, England
County/Island: Military
Country: England
Military Unit: 1st Battn A P W O Yorkshire Regiment
Registration District Number: 641
ED, institution, or vessel: Egypt, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Sudan

...........which is possibly George Harold??

This is the only Lily Mattie (spelling variation) birth I can see about the right time:

Births Jun 1899 (>99%)
King Lillie Mattie Darlington 10a 22

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 19 Jul 2013 21:38

No, that birth of George Thomas King may not be the correct one:

Deaths Mar 1863 (>99%)
KING George Thomas Grantham 7a 308

On the other hand, that's the only George King birth registered in Grantham 1860-71.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 19 Jul 2013 21:34

If the birth record posted by Catherine is the corrrect one, then the other birth at the same time is presumably the twin brother?
[EDIT - No, see next post,]

Births Mar 1863 (>99%)
KING George Thomas Grantham 7a 433
KING John Thomas Grantham 7a 438

Hello Valentina, have you done any research on census records and checking births marriages and deaths?

Valentina

Valentina Report 19 Jul 2013 20:03

I am looking for info about George King born in Grantham, Lincs in 1863. Family gossip is that he had a twin brother. He married Eliza Cook by licence(from cert) in Middlesbrough in Nov.1890. In 1891 they lived at Rose Cottage, QueensRoad,Richmond, Yorks, where their son George Harold was born , my late father-in-law. We know there was a son Albert and a daughter Lily Mattie. The father vanished about 1900 and nobody has any knowledge of him; The only other fact we have on the marriage cert. his father is named as JOHN KING, a stockbroker/ Does anyone has any facts relating to this family as I have come up against a brick wall/ If you can I will be so grateful. THANK YOU.

Valentina King (Daughter-in-law of the late George Harold King)
