Hi All , I hope there may be a kind person out there that can help me
I am looking for a Birth and death of Edward Matthew Hodgson , he married Emily Sarah Blackmore in 1892 I have looked on the 1901 and 1911 censu and can not find them
I found Emilys death in 1932 in Reading also in 1924 Emily was a witness at her nices wedding and on the cert she signed Lady Hodgson .
I have sent for the marriage and emilys death cert hoping they will give me some clues thanks for any help that may be given Pam :-(

yes this is Emily she was born in 1850 she was 42 when she married

What was his occupation from the marriage certificate,when was his birth year, and had he been married before?
Have you got them in the previous censuses?

Emily was living with her mother in the 1891and still single and im still waiting for my certs I sent for I found a Edward matthew Hodgson born 1863 .but that would make a 13 year age differance did they do that then

I think waiting for the certificates might be best, saves guessing, e.g. missionaries.

I just wondered how you got to them whilst knowing nothing about him.

My main line is Flower I was looking into William John Flower he was the Rector of Bellingham Northumberland he married Ethel Mary St Clair Blackmore in1924
Her Father was a John Canter Blackmore and Emily Sarah Blackmore is his sister.so I looked for her marriage .plus on a visit to Hexham there was a pice in the local paper that the bride wore a vail lent to her by her aunt Lady Hodgson Pam

Probate records show a Sir Edward Mathew HODGSON died in County Dublin, Ireland on 11 January 1904.
