I know that Esther Roe married her cousin William and I know Esther's connection with my family, but I don't know about William b1869. They both went to America in 1924. any information would be helpful.

You should be able to trace William if you know for certain that he was Esther's cousin...............their fathers must have been brothers, so that's the link.

In both 1891 and 1901, William says he was born in LONDON

I think I've found William T's father as William Allen Roe born c1834 Woodford, Northants, son of Thomas and Esther Roe (nee Allen),

Ancestry mistranscribe William A as William S on the 1871 census.

Thanks for all the information. Sorry I have duplicated this thread, I got the date of the move to America wrong and I though I had deleted this one.
I think William Allen Roe was his father, but I don't know who his mother was and I don't understand the connection with London.
There are also some Roes I haven't heard of before - I must look into those :-)

His mother was Mary Sivyer, born Wadhurst, Sussex, who William Allen Roe married in 1864 in Shoreditch (see the other thread).

They had their first few children, including William Thomas, in the London area, before moving to Leicestershire, where the remainder of their children were born, and where William Allen Roe died aged 44 (see other thread)

One of their sons, Frederick, had the second name Sivyer, and at least two of their daughters had the second name Allen (see other thread).
