I am trying to link parts of my tree. I am looking for a connection between Ellen Agnes Treggiden born in 1885 and Thomas Treggiden 1789-1835 There is a generation inbetween its just finding out who is the missing link. Also can anyone advise me on how can I obtain adoption records from the 1940's. Thank you Ann. apoligies if this is wrong this is 1st time posting :-S

Only the adoptee can obtain their adoption records and when an adopted child dies their file is closed.

I would have thought more than 1 generation between someone born in 1789 and someone born in 1885.

On 1901 census as Ellen born Paddington

This is the Ellen Agnes Treggiden she was born in 1885, and married in 1909 to Frederick john Scales their child Thomas W Scales born 1913 Married Gwyneth (Jeannie) Rees in 1936 Their Daughter is the one I have been asked about Sandra Ann Scales born in 1942 she was re-registered in 1944 When the mother got married to John G lyons Sandra A Scales seems to have had her records changed to lyons. I have been asked if I am related by the person searching the scales records. To Trace if Ellen Agnes is related to me I need to find her Parents. At the moment I have lots of names but nothing linking them I am hoping that I can match the other branches of the tree to mine. Thank you for your help its so confusing to start.

Patcham, Yes the thomas Treggiden mothers name is Mary Nee Clemes My family originated in cornwall. Glitterbaby I have not started to get certificates yet. His son Thomas Clemes treggiden born 1816 was married twice and had a few children one of whom is my direct ancestor Louis John Treggiden. My cousin has done a lot of research already and I am trying to get all the branches attatched to the tree which is quite hard.
