Find Ancestors

Hello I am trying to find descendants of my uncle William Thomas Potter who emigrated to Canada in the 1920's. He was born in wales 11 Jan 1908. His mother was Edith Potter nee Martin and his father was Samuel Potter, he died in the WW1 and is buried in Flatiron Cemetery, France. Brothers and sisters of William --Samuel, Horace, Harold, Bessie, Edith, Isaac. Step brother and sister (they didn't like to be know as step brothers and sister, just brothers ans sister). George, Islywn and Thelma Thomas.

Use Search/Search All Member Trees tab, top right.

You did not state what part of Wales, but I cannot see him in your tree - is he there?

Ship EMPRESS OF FRANCE. Departed Southampton 15th August 1928 and destined for Quebec. He was the second son of Edith and Samuel Potter. He was born in Pontlottyn South Wales UK in 1908. At the time of departure he was living in Lady Tyler Terrace, Monmouth, South Wales. His occupation was a miner. He had a relative living in Canada at the time. His name was Charles Hippard.
It would be great if I could find out what happened to him and hopefully find some relatives.

I see, on Rootschat, that the Burnaby death was discounted, wrong parents.

William was definitely in Canada in the 1950's because we all had to have photo's to send to him. My grandmother had had him tracked down by the Salvation Army I believe. All that side of the family have died and all the information gone.

I am sorry that I have not got back to you sooner. Many thanks to those who have replied and to say, yes you are all correct. The information that was found on Roots Chat I had put on a few years ago. William T Potter was my uncle and Charlie Hibbard was his cousin. His mother was my grandmothers sister.
I have the ancestors of the Potters but I am looking hopefully for the decendants of William who lived in Canada. I thought that William had gone to Canada to see his cousin Charlie ( of whom I have information about).
So again again I am sorry for the delay in replying but if anyone could help with the decendant side of it it would be great.

Have you followed the advice about looking in 'search all member trees'?

Three members appear to have Charles in GR trees..............none of which is you.

And you were advised - above - that one member has William

Get in touch...............they may have info
