I am trying to find out who lived at 18 Chamberlin Avenue, Bridgwater, Somerset in July 1955. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks. Pats

Those records aren't online

You would need the local main library for the area who hold old electoral rolls

Oh that's a shame....and I don't mean living in lovely Devon :-)

One of my grand uncles died at an address in Bridgwater. I don't know if he owned it; I don't know if his executor continued to live there. She was a total enigma.....I can't find her at all in 1911 although everything I know thereafter points to her being his mistress (they couldn't marry because he and his wife were never divorced. She never appears on electoral rolls in Newport when she was obviously living with him (and his mother) and then, on his mother's death they decamped to Bridgwater.

So I am always on the lookout for anyone who could actually search the electoral rolls in Bridgwater for me lol!

If you ever find anyone - think of me!!!!

If I do go to Bridgwater I will surely let you know. It isn't that far for me.

When did they move to Bridgwater? Would you be happy to give me the details?

My husband is from Bridgwater so we know the area well!

Reading my thread the records might be held at Taunton...this is the address

45 Wellington Road Bridgwater

My uncle died there in May 1926. The sole executor and beneficiary was one Eva Bevan "spinster"

I have not found her on a census for sure.

I could find him on the electoral rolls in Newport until just after his mother died in 1922. So I think that when his mother died he took what inheritance he had - she obviously didn't trust him so there were strings aplenty with his inheritance - and moved to Bridgwater with Eva. In the will she is shown as "formerly of Constant Street" which I believe was Constance Street where my great grandmother and Charles Llewellyn lived from 1911 until 1922

If you are ever there great! I started the thread in 2012 :-)
