Any advice gratefully received.

Looking into my family tree. My dad was adopted - I have his adoption certificate, birth certificate and his Mother's name, no father's name is recorded. He knew he had a brother - found his birth certificate, same mother's name and no father's name is recorded. My Dad's brother was adopted to a different family and my Dad never knew where he went. Is there any way that I can find out any info about my Dad's brother's adoption records? Also would the Adoption records have any information about the Mother?

Plus having a lot of trouble finding anything out about his mum, birth cert, marriage or death. Would have liked to find out if he has any half brothers or sisters. Just keep banging my head against a brick wall. Maybe I am being fanciful but I did wonder if my Dad's middle name 'Loder' which is very unusual was a clue to his Father's name.

and a death for a John Oscar Harbottle in 1986 (Windsor/Maidenhead) with a birth year of 1929
no other births recorded for Oscar John or John Oscar in England/Wales 1990-1945.

This death would tie with the birth reg in the second qtr of 1929

Legal adoption didn't start till 1929 so maybe he was fostered or put in a home rather than adopted

I don't see any children to the marriage in 1960- I wonder if he married again? There is a marriage of a British National in Tehran in 1966 John O Harbottle. 2 children born to this marriage- they may have returned to the UK.

They did return to the UK- his wife is listed on the current electoral register living in London, and both children are on Facebook.
