Bury and Norwich Post - Tuesday 18 January 1876
Frederick Eaves, of Bures, aged 12, was charged by Mr Charles Boggis, of Bures, farmer, with cruelly beating a sheep on the head with a stick. The head of the sheep, which was produced in court, was literally smashed in, thereby showing that violence had been used. The prosecutor said he did not wish to press the charge. The friends of the boy, who were in Court, consented that he should receive four strokes with a birch rod, which were duly given and the boy discharged.

Thanks Ann. I have the various census and also his marriage in 1881 to Annie Odell. I have not finalized their deaths but the 1929 date is a good possibility for Frederick.
