Arthur Lewis Jones (born 1910) enlisted on the 3rd December 1943 at Baltimore.
At some stage he was posted to the U.K.
This weekend I visited the American Cemetery in Maddingley Cambridge and I realised that I might be able to find out more about his service.
He is buried in Arlington. The details I have are these
PFC HDQ BTRY 416 FA GP FA USA.
How can I find out which service he was in and particularly when and where he was in
England ?
With thanks

Gritty

Thank you but what do the letters mean? Was he a soldier sailor or air force man?

I think he would have been in the army.

You will find some of the letters here:-

Thank you both.
It appears that the records have in the main been destroyed. Alternatively you have to be next of kin to access them - which I am not. It may be the end of this particular line of enquiry
