Find Ancestors

Here is the information from Louisa Mason's death certificate.
She was 64 years old at the time of her death which was 13/12/1878
She had been in the colony for 37 years.
She had 3 males & 1 female living, 2 males & 1 female deceased.
Spouse was John Edmonds.

Chris Ho, the link from the "Heritage Festival" is very interesting, thank you. I would love to know where you found it if you don't mind sharing.
The references to the children of John and Louisa from Ann look correctly and match the information I have from Louisa's death certificate which I have and which indicate how many children she had.
Thanks Malyon, the 1837 looks hopeful for a marriage date although none of the spouses match unfortunately. The article from Chris Ho suggests that their marriage was in 1834 although I cannot find a record from that time. Nor can I find any immigration records for a crossing at 1840, although evidently it looks like someone else has found that from the the look of the "Heritage Festival" link.
I agree the birth date of John Edmonds should be closer to 1815 if the bmd is correct in saying he is 33 (goodness what a lot of children they had, to die so young). I will have another look although it is very difficult to work out which "John Edmonds" is mine.

seems to be the only baptisms to those parents

I don't see that family in the 1841 census
(but there may be burials that match deaths in infancy/childhood ... there is one in the right place for a Louisa in 1839 showing dob 1838 which could be a mistrancribed age)


if John's age at death was correct, 33, there are unfortunately a lot of John Edmonds baptisms in the vicinity of London in 1814/1815

Hello, I'm trying to track the parents, marriage & immigration details of John Edmonds. Thanks in advance for your help.
Knowledge so far:
John Edmonds born 1802 (approx - taken from death details) in London, England
Married Louisa Mason around 1837 (England).[Her parents John Mason, shipbuilder & Ann]
First child Charles Edmonds born 27 April 1838
Then immigrated to Australia around 1839 (date taken from Louisa's death certificate)
Had at least 3 more children in Australia (information from Louisa's death certificate), a daughter & sons Charles & William.
Died 11 June 1848 in Woollongong, New South Wales, Australia.
Despite my best efforts, I cannot find a record of his marriage or shipping records, and would love to find his parents.
