Find Ancestors

A couple of years I posted a message about a girl born in Gasgow,Scotland by the name of Jeanie Gregory Kilpatrick. Jeanie was born in Glasgow in 1907. Jeanie was the daughter of my Great Uncle John Kilpatrick who emigrated to Canada in 1910 and was followed by his wife in 1912. There is no record of his daughter Jeanie Gregory Kilpatrick going to Canada at a future date. John Kilpatrick was killed in World War 1 and when he enlisted in The Canadian Expeditionary Force he stated that he was single.He named my Grandfather as his next of kin. It would appear that John and his wife were no longer an item. I could find no trace of John's wife Isabella(nee Isabella Duff Scott) or his daughter Jeanie.A friend suggested that I contact the Archives Dept. of The Mitchell Library in Glasgow. They told me that Jeanie was living with her Grandmother Jeanie Gregory Scott in 1914 but in 1916 she was handed over to her mother Isabella who was returning to Canada and was living with a man called William Hobday. I found them on a ship's manifest sailing from Liverpool in 1916. The names on the manifest were Isabella,Jeanie,William, & John all with the surname Hobday. It would appear that Jeanie was now known as Jeanie Hobday hence the reason for my difficulty in finding her.I would be grateful for any assistance in finding out what became of Jeanie when she moved to Canada in 1916.

Managed to speak to a gentleman by the name of John Hobday living in Ohio,USA
It turns out that Isabella was his Grandmother
He also said that Jeanie knew that William Hobday was not her biological father.
I was very worried about bring up the subject but he mentioned it first. .
