There is no David Kennedy death in 1861 anywhere. Are you sure it is not 1881?

There is always the chance that they didn't actually marry but just lived as man and wife.

Barnard Kennedy was my GGG Grandfather he was born ar Breakins Staplton 1791 and baptised at Stapleton Cumbria on 23rd March 1794 he married Jane Routledge 19th June 1813 at Stapleton Cumbria they had two children George and Nancy. Jane died at Kinkry Hill Rooadhead aged 26 and was buried at Stapleton 18th April 1817. Gorge was born at Parkfoot Cottages and was baptised19th December 1813 at Stapleton. Nancy was born at Underheugh Bewcastle Cumbria and was baptised at Knowe Presbyterian Church 25th August 1815.I can find no trace of George and Nancy after their birth, please can you help me find them. Any info on John Kennedy born 1690 at Haltwhistle perhaps at a farm called Allo lea I would be grateful to know who his parents were.
He married Dorothy Armstrong 1719 and after a few years moved to Stapleton in Cumbria. Marj.
