Can anyone tell me what " Affiliate Record Type: Institution" means?
I have ancestors Thomas Batten and family living at 7 Plough Court, St Andrews, Holborn. On Family Search the 1841 census gives this phrase in the record details and the image shows nothing but a list of names and ages?
I have got other 1841 census images that show "Affiliate Record Type Household"?
Whats the difference?

Sounds like he could have been in the workhouse or a hospital

Not sure that it's an institution as there are different families at 5 and 6 Plough court etc. That's on FMP

add, they are not there in 1851 but it is definitely a separate house, 4 people at number 7 ,

It seems to be blocks of tenement buildings at Fetter Lane Holborn
