Looking for any info on Ann Dibben died 1823 - possibly Taunton, buried in Fontmell magna

Info gleaned from an old letter, she was taken from Taunton to Sturminster Newton (where she apparently had a house with servants) for a church service late 1823, then buried in Fontmell magna

very interested to know what house she lived in in Sturminster newton, whether she was Dibben by marriage or by birth

any help gratefully received, thank you :-)

ps this is not a relative of mine, just a bit of historical research after purchasing some very old letters from the town where we live.

lots of very interesting items - I was born in Manston

This is such an interesting story, especially as the family was very well known. We have a letter from H J Leigh to the solicitor in Sturminster Mr Dashwood, saying how poorly Miss Dibben is (though it may say Mrs? any way the next letter a few days later is arranging the funeral - which would be from Taunton - to Sturminster Newton via Yeovil, some 44 miles, and 16 horses, the outfits that the riders would wear the plumes of feathers for the horses, and informing th Salkeld family in Fontmell magna etc etc, this is a story we are going to write up for out local parish magazine, for all to enjoy, thanks for the help everyone

Sturminster Newton Castle – Deceptively, Sturminster Newton unfortunately does not boast an imposing fortified castle, to which the tourist information makes tantalising hints. The ‘castle’ is actually in a very dangerous state and is the ruinous remains of a 14th-century manor house. The building, or what is left of it, now stands on private property, and was given as a gift from Henry VIII to his sixth wife Katherine Parr in 1543. The ruins have not changed much in a little over 100 years, and it is thought that there was once an Iron Age hill-fort in the vicinity, with the site most likely having been reoccupied from the late Saxon period. The position of the ruins represent the earliest settlement so far discovered in the town. Although no-one knows exactly where, legend has it that there is a well near the site of the castle, in which is hidden a wealth of treasure and a large object of solid gold is said to be hidden in a nearby tunnel.

And further make or cause to be made a true and just attempt of their said Administration on or before the last day of May 1800 --- and all the Rest and Residue of the said Goods Chattles and Credits which shall be found remaining upon the said Administrators attempt the same being first examined and aloud of by the judge or judges for the time being of the said court shall deliver and pay unto the said person or persons respectively to the said judge or judges by his or their decree or sentant & pursuant to the true intent and meaning of a late act of Parliament made in the two and twentieth and three and twentieth years of the Reign of our late Sovereign Lord King Charles the second instituted an act for the better settling of Intestates Estates shall limit and appoint And if it shall hereafter appear that any Last Will and Testiment was made by the said deceased and the exeutor or exeutors therein name or exhibit the same into the said court making request to have it aloud and approved accordingly if the said Susannah Welch and Sarah Hill above bounden bring thereunto required to render and deliver the said letters of Administration (Approbation of such Testament being first had and made) in the said court then this obligation to bellow be void, or else remain in full forte and Virtue.
