Is there a way of discovering where a sheila woolstencroft formerly cohu was born around 1940. Her mother was rita may cohu evacuee from guernsey born around 1923 and i am not sure if sheila was born in guernsey or burnley . Does anyone out there have access to births in guernsey at alll? Sheila was adopted by a famuily named woolstencroft in burnley around 1940-1944 but unfortunately died aged 27 in 1967.

There was a male child born in 1944 in Burnley with the surname Cohu - mothers maiden name was the same so probably she was not married.?

I wonder if there is any connection here to Rita May ?

I can see no other mention of him .

yes stephen. He is searching for his mums background and family. Sheila may cohu/woolstencroft/lawson is his sister. She was adopted but he was placed in a childrens home after rita may cohu died in 1944 from tb . she was a guernsey refugee :-)
