it would be more than likely the bootmaker "shop" was run from the home...The owner of the shop according to the Voters Reg.was Thomas Madden.
John St West is only about a five minute walk from Thomas St. as the crow flies.

Grateful for info. William may be a son of Thomas (died Thomas St 1845) as William listed as a bootmaker of 92 Thomas St. per Slater 1846. William also listed in 1851 Dublin census at 11 John St. West - daughter Eliza died in this street 1850. Would they have lived and conducted business at the same address at that time ? Plus Joseph witness at the marriage. Bill.

John Lanigan (Thomas St age 55 yrs buried 11/10/1845), wife Anne Lanigan (76yrs 1 Eden Quay 10/9/1869), son Joseph Frederick Lanigan (60 years 29/3/1978) wife Eliza Lanigan (Crosby) (37 yrs 14 Eccles St 24/4/1873) - the only 4 names on headstone. Want to know connection with following Lanigans also buried in same grave- Anne Jane( Capel St. 7yrs -20/11/1848), Joseph (Abbey St 15 months 1/7/1849), Eliza (West John St 30 months 8/2/1850), Jane (159 North Strand(same address as Joseph Frederick 60 yrs 13/5/1877)
