Trees on Ancestry gives the Father's death as 1876 (St Leonard's on Sea) and Mother 1902 (Hunslet, Yorks). Probate says died Ticehurst (late of Church Street, Durham) and Administration of effects was granted to Susannah of Church Street.

None of the trees have John Arthur in 1881.
By 1889 he is said to be a Professor of Piano in London at the RCM.

Ethel is in Barrow in Furness in 1891 with Brother Ernest.

I just wonder if - following the death of John B in 1876 - they went as a family to Europe or some such? Looking around at other census and probate records, it doesn't look as though they were short of the proverbial bob or two !

If that were the case, they wouldn't show on Passenger lists (none to Europe)

Either that or they are very badly transcribed ..............

'....hymn (Irene), being also by the late Dr. Dykes. We mustn't omit to state that the bride was given away by Mr John Arthur St Oswald Dykes, brother of the bride. In place of the homily in the marriage service, the Vicar delivered an appropriate address......'
17 April 1888 - Tenbury Wells Advertiser - Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, England

He gave his sister Caroline Sybil, away here. Edith was a bridesmaid.

Still not finding them in 1881.

None of the trees on Ancestry seem to have any of the family in 1881.

There's a photo of Ethel Susan for sale here (11th one down the page), and a paragraph about her - but no help with 1881:
