How did you find this ?? as I have this info

As well as James MCDowall b 1614 (14th Garthland ) m to Jean Hamilton b 1629

So I dont know which is the correct one :-S

Go to family search site click on 'search'

Enter his name in 'deceased ancestor's name'

enter birthplace and a range of years and hit 'search'

his baptism comes up

Thank You greyghost it was very interesting to see william mcdowell entry but no dates for his parents how can I find Willams ancesters from Scotland as Im stuck
