Thank you very much Margaret, that is great, because it ties Charles in with my other Whetmans, father William being a blacksmith

The spelling varies from Whetman to Whitman to Wetman.

I just happened across them on the census, while having my annual look for my 'missing' Harriet Louisa Whetman lol and did wonder if there was a connection as Charles had same occupation and same place of birth as Harriet's father James.
