Possible twins?

Thanks Malyon.

I can't see Jessie having twins in 1870 as previously mentioned as she was born in 1856 and being 14 years old at the time of the twins birth & death.

Not impossible, but I think it highly unlikely even for that time.

Yes, I know the age of marriage has changed over the years, just cannot see her getting pregnant.

Thanks

Nothing to do with Jessie and Thomas - but just to say, in searching for their possible twins, I came across a set of parents (Carson/Harrison) who had three sets of twins within 3 years, in Newcastle upon Tyne. Four of the babies died at birth or very shortly after. Poor parents!

Could the twins have been born to Jessie before she married??

Might be worth looking further into this one, although she would have been very young?

It's probably not the correct ones but I can see no trace of them after her marriage!

Marcus Report 7 Mar 2018 18:12

Story has it that my 2xgreat grandparents, Thomas Carson, b1854 & Jessie (Nee Spiers), b1856, had twins, but who ultimately 'died in her arms when young'.

I have no idea if this is true, or not, but there is a slight age gap in the surviving children's birth dates.

Their surviving children are - Agnes Maria, b1878 in Blaydon, Co. Durham (My great grandmother), Catherine Swinton, b1880 in Cramlington, Northumberland, Maria Andison, b1885, James Spiers, b1887 & Eva, b1890. Maria, James & Eva born in Pittington, Co. Durham.

My guess is that the twins (?) were born between Catherine in 1880 & Maria in 1885.

I don't know if they were born, or not. If they were, I don't even know if they were named or Baptised/Christened etc........ or how old they were when they died. (Or where).

So, can anyone help? Not much to go on, I know, but would like help to confirm either way.

Thanks.
