Today I would like some help in find Gladys Brailsford and her family who should be living in the Nottingham district please?

Gladys was born Gladys Tolley in 1914. She married William Brailsford in 1934 and the marriage was registered in Nottingham.

If I have the right couple they had 10 children. (all on Free BMD).

Any help appreciated. Nala.

Just to mention that on the image, 'Sam' was written just slightly above and to the right of 'William' - perhaps he preferred to be known as' Sam' ???

Mary J has no birthdate given but she is a widow

The annotations by Williams name could also be son if you enlarge the image

Thanks Shirley,

I have do doubt that William 'is' Mary J's son but I still think is says 'Sam' by his name on the image ??

I don't think the word next to William's name can be Sam or son. The same word is written next to another person's name a bit further down the page and he appears to be the head of the household, so wouldn't be described as son and it would seem strange for two men with different first names to be known as Sam.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 16 Mar 2018 18:27

Maybe its Senr.? =senior.....

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 16 Mar 2018 23:37

I think you are probably right Kay, it could be senior as there is another word a bit further down which looks like Junior, as this person has the same name as the one whose name probably has senior next to it. It is the next house down from the Brailsfords.

You are right Kay - it 'is' senr. !!!

The first of his 3 sons blanked out below him on the page is his son William H so 'he' would be marked Junr.
