I have trawled several sites including freebmd and ancestry in the hopes of finding the above named lady.

Daughter of Alfred S Bailey and Elizabeth A Roberts (my great grandmothers sister)
married Leslie James Wright in 1957 Southport.

When you say "find", what do you mean?

Do you mean you hope to be able to contact her? Or do you mean you can't find records relating to her?

Can you give us some idea of when she was born, please? What age does her marriage cert give?

It is her birth I am trying to find.... her husband was b. 1932 d, 2005

I am guessing she is too deceased.

192.com shows a Phyllis Georgina Wright living in Southport - but no dates of when she was there.

Clicking on her name also shows Leslie J Wright.
No dates for him either.

Apparently Phyllis was born in June 1935.

As we can't find any birth for her with either of those parents - might she have been an adopted daughter ??

I think you need to buy her marriage cert to see what that says - although if she was adopted, it would still probably say that Alfred was her father.

As she resigned from the golf club in 2006, maybe that 2007 death I posted is the correct one.

If she was born 1933, as stated on the death record, and not 1935 as in the golf club record, then there is a Phyllis G birth with mms Roberts registered in 3rd qr 1933.

Surname Haycock , and in Bedwellty.

Perhaps she was a niece whom they adopted ???

As Phyllis isn't on the 1939 register with Alfred & Elizabeth (assuming the closed record to be Dorothy) perhaps (if the wild thought of her being adopted is correct) she wasn't adopted until after 1939 ???
