Would I be on the right track when searching parish information - What I know about Ellen Jump - Found with Husband Thomas Grimshaw Parkinson on the 1871 (27 Albert Street Liverpool), 1881 (100 Seel Street Liverpool) and 1891 (98 Seel Street Liverpool) census. This puts her DOB around 1834. Then I have found the marriage listed in England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973 View Record Name Ellen Jump Gender Female Marital Status Single Marriage Date 16 Apr 1854 Marriage Place Walton On The Hill, Lancaster, England Father James Jump Spouse Thomas Grimshaw Parkinson FHL Film Number 1647985 Reference ID p8 cn15 Household Members Name Age Ellen Jump James Jump Thomas Grimshaw Parkinson William Parkinson I have searched through the parish marriages for that date and found nothing I have found an Ellen Jump Parents James and Anne baptism 17th October 1833 - would it be right to think this is her and if no birth date was recorded this is as much info as I can collect? Would I then look for the parent on the census returns? Thanks for your help.

	Strange you can’t find the image of the marriage. You could order a copy from GRO using the following ref Marriages Jun 1854 (>99%) Jump Ellen West Derby 8b 672 The MC would give the fathers occupation which might help you decide if the baptism is relevant. Similarly the witnesses may be other family members. As for the baptism - it’s hit or miss whether a birth date was recorded, depending on the priest & how soon after birth the baptism took place.

Member Since: August 2014 Posts: 73 Send Message	Thanks all this is great. I guess what I am really worried about is that this Ellen Jump is not the right one. I have spent ages looking at the baptisms and I think this is the only one (recorded) as a possibility so the odds are that this is the correct one. Also thanks for the person who posted the marriage from the Lancashire website which is great and when I have looked myself another member of the family was married on the same day so the father James Jump joiner tallies with the baptism. I haven't had chance to go through all the info in depth yet but am I right with my assumptions on the baptism do you think and this is as sure as we can every be with the information available that this Ellen Jump is the one who married Thomas? Also cannot find her death anywhere? I know Thomas died 1893 and Ellen is listed on the probate. Maybe she remarried but cannot find this either? Any tips on how to continue the search? Thanks
