The Oct 1921 article is actually
A long service medal has been presented to Mr. George Douthwaite, of Norton, who has cornpleted 35 years' service as postman at Malton.

Reference to the Edlington Parish council is about a proposed market!

The missing bit about the stabbing is '.....as being serious'
...

Also relating to the Douthwaite's of the Bazaar Hotel

On February 12th, George Herman, the beloved son George and Annie Douthwaite, of Bazaar Hotel, Moor, aged 27 years. Friends please accept this, the only intimation.
4 February 1927 - Sheffield Daily Telegraph
