On his marriage it gives his age as 33 which would make him born in 1828 , so unsure who is the Richard that could be his dad. Only thing we know is Richard had died before 1861 marriage. :-S

trying to find the deaths of above couple who married in 1861 in preston st johns church.
John was supposedly 33 on his marriage and mary was 23. Johns father was Richard fowler , a labourer who was already deceased .
Marys dad was john birtwistle a joiner. they had children , mary in 1862, nancy in 1865, james in 1867, Elizabeth alice in 1869, Richard in 1870, joseph in 1871/72 and cicely in 1874.
I think they are on the 1881 census with it saying john was born in 1837 or there abouts. Please could anyone confirm that for me ?
