	I presume you mean that Alfred was born in 1875? 1881 census is on familysearch - free The GRO website is also free and includes MMN on birth records

	1880 census Mother Isabella Shepherd wife married. Gertrude and four siblings. Her father wasn't at home at the time of the census. found this 1901 census father Henry seagoing engineer.
