Thanks Kath, I found some records on family search that were close to what I was looking for and these showed Jonathon b 1682 he fathered Jonathon born 1713 and his son was William born 1749 but another one shows John 1734 who married Margaret and they appear to be William born c 1749 parents! Is it my age because I cant get my head round whose father is who. Most of the family seem to be from Hutton Cranswick in Yorkshire - 2 later relatives born 1827/8 were from Leeds

EDIT - sorry, I see now you say his father is John or Jonathon

Without looking anything up, Jonathan seems more likely.
John would only have been about 15.

But not impossible.

Where in Yorkshire?

Help please - various spellings of the name ESKRIETT I need help with Wiiliam Eskriett born c 1749 - I am not sure if his father is John born 1734 or Jonathon born 1713. Both were born and lived in Yorkshire. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.
