Oh Margaretm...What was that you said, I am curious as ime still looking for Ada x
Sole legatee was sister Ada.?...Its ok I got it :-)
But does it mean Alfred left a will ?

Kucinta Report 12 Oct 2018 14:57

Alfred looks to have filled out a pocket book will ( a page from his military pocketbook).

Unfortunately England and Wales still charge for a copy of these wills even though they are just a page from his pocketbook, and usually just have the name and address of the legatee.

Scotland and Ireland do not charge for these wills, it seems unfair to me that the situation is different for those from England and Wales.

Alfred did leave one of those wills, but I'm not sure it's worth the cost of £10, as you already know the legatee is Ada

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills

Search under the tab for soldier's wills. You can be certain which one is Alfred as it has the regimental number 1812, and the death date 13 Jun 1915.
