I am looking for a David Richard Jones of Aberdare who served in the army in WW2 and was a guard at Marbury POW Camp near Northwich in Cheshire. I do not have his DOB only a picture in which he is with other guards. He was a sergeant and looks to be aged between 35 - 45 years of age. He was believed to be unmarried at this time.

Bear in mind that people of that era looked older than their equivalent today

Have you done anything in the way of research?

'Of' Aberdare - does that mean it was where he was born? Or merely his home address at the time?

Registration district for Aberdare is Merthr Tydfil

If you 'Search Records' (on 'GR") you'll see a David Richard Jones b1906 Merthyr Tydfil on the 1911 census.
Also - they give a few of that full name on the' 'UK Electoral Register' 2001-18. - you can view details inc their addresses - in Aberdare. (some with family occupants)
