I am searching for the marriage of Geoffrey K Griffithsparents. I know his mothers maiden name was Burrows. Geoffrey was born in September 1931 and registered in Guisborough. He married a Brenda Kane in 1953.She is my aunt. I believe that they emigrated to canada.I have no date for that.

no marriages for those places could be the mother was married before if we knew her christian name we might find it yoiu would have to send for the birth certificate

There is a Kenneth Griffiths mmn Burrows also born in Guisiborough in 1933.

He can possibly be found on the 1939 with William (1876) and Annie Griffiths (1896) but with other children not Griffiths/Burrows.

In addition, the children's surnames (boys) change to Barton and then Tomlinson, whilst Annie's does not.

I think you'll have to buy a copy of his birth cert, to find out at least his father's name.

There are several Griffiths/Burrows marriages before 1931, but none in Co Durham nor North Yorkshire.


There's a June M Griffiths (mms Burrows) born in Guisborough 1936, she may or may not be a sister.

The Kenneth born 1933 seems unlikely to be a brother, as Geoffrey's middle name was Kenneth.
