ok I am on another mission, I have bought a photo at an antiques fair.

It was taken in Melbourne, Australia (studio portrait)

On the back it says

1892

Gilbert Pugh Davies

Louisa Olivia Davies

That is the parents in the photo then there are two babies

one is unreadable (By me)

the other is Eva Constance - aged 3 weeks 5 days

I would love to see if these people are on someone's family tree and give the photo back to them if they do not have it.

If anyone want to do the lookup for me, if you give me you email address, I can send you a scan of the photo and the writing on the back

Thanks in advance :-D

Di .. the 'RYERSON INDEX' (on-line) shows Gilbert Pugh Davies d 21/9/1952 at Canterbury (VIC) -his death notice in 'The Age (Melb)' 22/9/1952.

The 'Victorian State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask Us' librarian service - they will check this newspaper death notice for family names etc. They will also check electoral rolls (past & present) for any family names mentioned.

For interest, both of their cremations are recorded on https://sbc.smct.org.au/deceasedsearch/

You could repeat the search with other potential family names - if it says that their cremated remains have been collected, you could email the crematorium. Although they wouldn't give you an address, they'd probably tell you the name of the person who collected the Ashes. V handy if the only know descendents were female who may have married
