Thanks Maddie, I felt quite sad about Charles losing his life in WW1 . I realise that the William I mentioned in my first post just doesn't fit in, there is no room for him but pleased about Alexander as I wasn't sure I had the right one.
Marjorie.

The Millers tended to live around Northumberland and Durham.
I have Hugh Miller who was my father-in-law. 1909-1975 born Todds Buildings Dipton Durham.
Hugh's father Joseph1878- born White Head Durham.
Joseph's father Charles 1851- born perhaps Tanfield Durham.
Charles' father John 1823- born Durham died 1st September 1917 at Tanfielld Moor Pit Lanchester Durham.
John's father William born 1790 (I think).
This family is really frustrating me as there are so many people with the same name and age can anyone help please?
Ps. I think Williams father may have been called Alexander Miller but I can't figure out which one.
Another Ps. John may have been born at Wallbottle in Northumberland in 1823.
