Thanks Abby, Maddie.. I think I'll need to sit and sift through this detail you've, find some order. Some of the references you've provided are new to me and LOL, likely to send me careering off in other directions.. i.e. the 1813 Eliz. Masters - John Pitcher marriage as Masters is another related name in my Paternal Tree (Woonton, of Chard, Combe St Nicholas & thereabouts, c.1600 onwards). Thanks again.

Thanks safc.. Yes had seen this Berryman - Pitcher reference (it's the right spelling for my earlier Berryman line) and no doubt both parties are related to mine one way or t'other however, I need the reverse.. a Pitcher female - male Berriman (Berryman) marriage in similar time & location, to yield a child John Pitcher Berriman. Cheers

In Crewkerne, Somerset, on the 11th of Nov 1842, my 2 times Great Grand Uncle 1817 – 1875 John Peadon , married Mary Ann Pitcher Berriman, borne c.1814 in Lopen , Crewkerne. The marriage transcript notes Mary Ann’s father as John Pitcher Berriman.
I’d like to investigate the Berriman line, to see if it intersects with an earlier form, Berryman, also in my Tree, but not off to a good start.. the Pitcher surname crops up in Lopen –Crewkerne, from 1800 to current days, as does Berriman.
What I can’t seem to see though, is either..
- birth or baptism of John Pitcher Berriman or
- a Pitcher & Berriman marriage, in that time line of pre 1800, Mary Ann’s father John Pitcher Berriman came from.
Lots of Crewkerne Pitcher lass’s getting married in that period, just not to a Berriman.
Hoping there is a better set of skills, eyes, than mine, that can spot such. Appreciated
