Have you looked in members trees to see if she is listed

Afraid you would need her new name to look further

You could add your contact details on the national adoption registers.if she goes looking your info would be passed on to her

Also on FreeBMD you can add a note on her birth record .again should she look fir her birth record she will see the note

The name is spelt Joanne

You may need to check the birth date as there’s no 1966 birth

1965 and 1967 but no 1966

Am guessing you know her mums maiden name to cross check

Edit strange I wasn’t getting the name up on the first try on freebmd

Now it shows the one that det has posted !!!

Have you completed the form on the Adoption Contact Register?

https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

If she is also looking for birth relatives, the system should match you.
There are further links on the page about hiring Intermediaries. They’d be allowed to access her records, discover her adopted name &, hopefully, trace her. It would her decision if she wanted contact.

You could also write a letter to be included in her file with social services. If she should choose to access the file, she’d be able to read it & take it from there.

We would also suggest that you do not close your account with GR, just allow it to lapse. That way if she, or a current relative, Google’s her birth name they’d be able to send you a message via this site. Make sure that your account is always linked to a working email address.

Assuming her birth was registered in Croydon, it is spelt JoEnne !
It might be worth adding the usual spelling of Joanne to your title in case there was a spelling error when the index was typed up.
