all day i have been trying to find
Edith Winifred Hodgson born 21st feb 1920 West Ham Essex
she is not with her family in the 1939 census

in 1939 she would of been age 19 so she could be working some were
but were as i can not find her

if it help edith died jan 1998 Enfield Greater London age 77

It’s strange though that some more recent deaths have been picked up and the record opened
Our elder sister died in 2002 and her record is open
We were both evacuated to Kent and were billeted together

Both the couple we lived with and my sister are open on the the 1939 register

Sister was born in 1931 and the foster parents in between
1911 and 1920

Thankfully I am still the closed record !!!!

I stayed in touch with them right up to their deaths and am still in touch with extended family

As I’m the only one interested in family history I do know no-one has requested my sisters record to be opened so some updates must have happened

oops i for got iv amost ask for the same thing last year

iv done nothink but think heard all day and i do remember my mum saying that she remembers my dad visting a sister in hospital she dident say what sister
pluss i dident even no my dad had a sister called edith

god what a muddle :-)

are you sure it was your edith that died 1998 does not have a middle name
