Thanks GG - that is the Patrick I was looking at too. I can't explain why but I really do not think that the Maurice who married Doris E is in any way connected to Cheshire !!

I think they are 2 different people.

I am not even convinced that the Maurice and Patrick (brothers) who we have on 1911 are the correct family.

Other than the 1911, do you actually know that 'your' Maurice had a brother called Patrick?

I admit that I could well be proved completely wrong in this but I am really looking forward to seeing what info there is on that marriage cert.............

Probable death of the Patrick shown earlier on the 1939 register from
https://www.freebmd.org.uk (free to search)

Deaths Mar 1956 (>99%)
Blake Patrick 62 Warrington 10f 923

Probable probate record of that person from
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk (also free to search)

BLAKE Patrick of 203 Walnut Avenue, Weaverham, Cheshire died 23 March 1956 at The General Hospital, Warrington. Administration Chester 27 April to John Christopher Blake hairdresser and Rosaline Ellen Blake spinster.

The death and probate record tie in together and the probate record ties that Patrick to 2 of the births shown to be to the Blake / Mahoney marriage as they are named on the probate record.

BUT nothing to say it's "your" Patrick.
I posted that 1939 record and said

Co incidence ?
A Patrick Blake b 1894 shows up in Cheshire
and will add here -
(no births on freebmd 1892 -1896 of a Patrick Blake in England/Wales)

Hopefully the marriage certificate for Patrick may give the same Father's details that are on that of Maurice

Pam -
Is Herbert in the 1947 travel record your Maurice's son?

If so, apparently not born in UK - don't see a Herbert Blake/Taylor birth c1934 in England/Wales. (EDIT: not Scotland either.)
The travel record does say "Country of Last Permanent Residence: India" - for both of them.

Don't know if coincidence or not -
in 1939 Doris is living in Fairfield Road in Eastbourne, and in 1947 the address Maurice and Herbert are going to is a house called "Fairfield", although in Chester.

If any one can help with locating a Birth or Baptism record for this person that would be great.
Maurice Blake born 22nd January 1896 Upper Burma India. On the 1911 Census he is at the Ealing Grammar School, Ealing Park, Middlesex England with his Brother Patrick, who was also born in Upper Burma about 1895. Maurice died in 1978 in Sussex England. Thank you Pam
