If you buy a copy of the 1954 marriage cert, you will fnd out the name of Douglas's father. I doubt you'll get any info about Kathleen's father, so you'll need a copy of her birth cert to find out her mother's forename(s)

Learn how to use these free sites -

https://www.freebmd.org.uk - bmd from start of registration in Q3 1837 through to approx. 1983. Mother's maiden name for births shows only from Q3 1912 onwards and age at death from mid 1860's

and
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates (this one you have to register but is then free to use).
Shows mmn from start of registration until 1918 (100 year closure) and deaths with ages or year of birth from 1837 - 1957 and 1987 - 2019

If mmn is blank you can usually infer an illegitimate birth

Caris

You do need to sort out your facts - looking for info is the best way to do that

There is no record of a marriage between Douglas Wyatt and Kathleen Dunn

Were these people born/married in England/Wales?

Which of their children is your parent?

Caris

Caris Report 17 Nov 2019 14:03

Sorry no her name was kathleen adkins at birth

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 17 Nov 2019 14:02

Do some research yourself to start with. That's the whole point of family history.

Look for info on freebmd

If the name at birth was Dunn, her father wasn't Moore
